eBay UK has launched the ‘eBay x Notting Hill Carnival hub’ for carnival-loving sneakerheads to shop stand-out carnival kicks. The hub is part of the online marketplace’s partnership with London’s iconic Notting Hill Carnival which showcases carnival sneaker culture and platforms carnival loving sneakerheads’ top tips.

With sneaker searches spiking by 365% in the run-up to Carnival, the hub is curated by Carnivalists, including Carnival OGs and members of award-winning Mas band, Mangrove. Nicole Fox (Mas player), Tremaine Facey (Steel pan player) and Renaldo La Rose (Carnival DJ) share their eBay Authenticity Guaranteed sneaker selects for Panorama, J’Ouvert and the main event which takes place on Bank Holiday Weekend (26th – 27th August).
Project Overview
For this project with production company COLDR, Director Nicole tasked me with creating a vibrant, carnival-inspired living room set. This set needed to celebrate Caribbean culture and bring a sense of joy, warmth, and festivity to the scene while aligning with the essence of eBay.
Art Direction
To achieve this, I adopted the "Lofi Maximalism" interior style—a bold yet inviting look that captivates a broad audience without overwhelming the shot. Drawing inspiration from Caribbean carnival aesthetics, I crafted a colour scheme rooted in both cultural vibrancy and brand cohesion. I incorporated colours that appear in Caribbean flags, many of which overlap with eBay’s branding, seamlessly merging the cultural and commercial aspects of the design.
Set Decoration
The set design includes eclectic elements and lively props that capture the carnival spirit. The arrangement is carefully layered, featuring retro speakers, vinyl records, and bold posters to transport the viewer to a Caribbean-inspired space filled with warmth and personality. Large plants, vibrant seating, and culturally relevant artwork were added to reinforce the theme and complete the look.
